Are you astonished at how quickly money disappears from your wallet? Do you know where it all goes? And for what? It's a fact that many people, regardless of education, background, or salary have no idea where the bulk of their money goes. These are intelligent people. They just never took charge of their income and spending. And many are now suffering the consequences-crushing debt, no savings, and bad credit.
Where does it all go?
Tracking your expenditures for only two months can provide you with a clear road map for controlling your spending and setting up a savings plan. And while paying for a medical school degree, nothing could be more important than watching your spending habits.
To get started, simply put a piece of paper and a pencil in your wallet. Every time you take out cash, write a check, or use a credit card, jot down the item and the amount. Make a list of each expenditure every day. This list is your daily record. By compiling your daily records into a weekly record, and compiling your weekly records into monthly records, you have a snapshot of the exact uses of all your money. In addition, there are excellent money-management software tools on the market that can help you balance your accounts, track spending, and even create reports and financial management plans.
Making a Budget
By getting a grasp on where and when you spend your money, you can initiate a plan to manage your personal finances, including setting savings targets, getting a hold of extraneous spending, and managing your bills. With a detailed financial management plan in hand, you'll be better able to realistically set your priorities and goals-and ensure that you have the money to achieve them.
