Question: Cargo is being loaded into a shipping container so that the container is being filled at the rate of approximately 2,000 cubic meters per hour. If the empty container is 40 meters long, 10 meters wide, and 30 meters deep, approximately how many hours does it take to fill the container?


Choices:
A. 2
B. 4
C. 6
D. 12
E. 30

 The volume of the container is: 
  
40  meters   ×  10  meters   ×  30  meters   =  12,000  cubic meters 
  
 Since the cargo is being loaded at 2,000 cubic meters per hour, 
  it will take: 
  
 12,000 cubic meters 
 2,000 cubic meters per hour 
 =   6 hours to finish loading. 
  
 Answer choice (C) is correct.
