Fact:
Mean, median, and mode are different measures of central tendency, and can be different numbers for the same data set.
What this means to me:
When you see a question dealing with mean, median, or mode, make sure you are calculating the right one. To find the mean, add all the numbers in the data set and divide by the number of terms. To find the median, put the numbers in order from least to greatest and take the number in the middle if there is an odd number of terms or the average of the two middle numbers if there's an even number of terms. To find the mode, take the most frequently occurring number in the data set.
