Fraser River- A river of British Columbia, Canada, flowing about 1,368 km (850 mi) from the Rocky Mountains near the Alberta boundary to the Strait of Georgia at Vancouver. It was discovered by Sir Alexander Mackenzie in 1793 and named later for the navigator Simon Fraser.
