Tasmanian wolf

NOUN:
A large wolflike carnivorous marsupial (Thylacinus cynocephalus) of Tasmania, having a pointed head and dark transverse stripes across its back. It is believed to be extinct. Also called Tasmanian tiger, thylacine.
