  1. A person who spends money or resources wastefully: prodigal, profligate, scattergood, spendthrift, waster. See save
  2. A self-indulgent person who spends time avoiding work or other useful activity: bum 1, drone 1, fainéant, good-for-nothing, idler, layabout, loafer, ne'er-do-well, no-good, slugabed, sluggard. Informal: do-little, do-nothing, lazybones, slug 2. Slang: slouch. See industrious
